Introduction:
Your visit abroad is winding up and it is time to take your hosts out for a meal. You recently heard from your colleague in Spain that she is also expected to invite her hosts out for dinner. The organizers at home are looking forward to next year’s exchanges and want to compare your experience in Mexico with your colleague’s experience in Spain. They have asked you to compare how eating out in Mexico differs from eating out in Spain.
Task:
You are to compare a restaurant in Ixtapa, Mexico with a restaurant in Bilbao, Spain. In addition to comparing the types of food and prices, you should also find out a little about the two cities.
Process:
First, look at the chart attached to see what information you will need to discover. Then, visit the websites to find out about the cities. Write down what you discover next to “descripción”. Then continue to a restaurant in Ixtapa and one in Bilbao using the sites provided. Find a restaurant and write down the name (nombre), address (dirrección), telephone number (número de teléfono) and menú (with prices). Total the meal (for one person) and convert to dollars. Then report in the space provided on differences and similarities in the restaurants, towns and food. If at any time you are stuck on a word, visit the translation site.
