¡La comida! Webquest # 19 -Food

 

Introduction:

You have decided to make a recipe book of your favorite Mexican foods to bring to your friends back home who have been taking care of your goldfish while you were gone. You decide that you want to make sure that each recipe includes an ingredient indigenous to the Americas which has been combined with a non-indigenous foods in its creation.

Task:

Design a cookbook that has a minimum of five recipes. Each recipe must list the ingredients both in English and in Spanish and must identify a New World /Old World ingredient. You may need to use the translation site for some words.

Process:

Begin by identifying Old World (non-indigenous) ingredients from the site provided. Continue to the recipe site and find five different recipes that combine ingredients from both worlds and used in Mexican cooking today. Copy the recipes into your document and identify the New/Old world ingredients. Design a cover for your recipe book using clip art or pictures from the web.

Conclusion:

Your friends will thank you for this neat cookbook. Maybe you will even be invited to their house for dinner!
