Congratulations! On behalf of the members of the selection committee for the Project Filed Trip to Latin American Countries, we are pleased to inform you that your application is approved and you and your students are selected for the field trip to Latin American countries for one month. The committee is very much impressed with your application and the included plans to open the eyes of non-Spanish speaking students and teacher to learn the culture and language of the neighboring countries. The committee also values your own efforts to take the challenge of learning a new language and culture while leading your students beyond the classroom to the real world. The committee also referred to the advice from relevant organizations such as:

• Parents’ Committee of your school: recognized your best practice in your teaching and efforts to engage families in learning
• Student Government of your school: voted for you as the best teacher for a field trip.
• Principals of your school and the exchange school: recognized your innovative teaching methods and enthusiasm to teach students. One principal of the exchange schools who herself was an exchange student to the U.S. is especially supportive of your plan.
• Local Latino Chamber of Commerce: recognized your practice in connecting the community to the school and the services that you bring in forms of volunteerism.
• The Society of Latin American Ambassadors: your plan for cultural exchange is strongly supported by the society

Now that you are selected for the project, during this semester we will frequently contact you for the preparation before the trip. In the meantime the project office will guide you to build detailed plans for helping your students’ stay in the participating countries, language learning plans, and cultural exchange plans, as well as your own professional development. As this project is meant to help non-Spanish speaking teacher and students, if you have any questions or concerns, we will be delighted to help you with the matter providing resources and consultation.
