First, the teacher makes copies of the Funny Body ‚ See Attachment l. Itís a comical picture of a boy.
Then the teacher makes copies of the crazy Monster Pictures ‚ See Attachment 2. The teacher cuts the drawings of the monsters. The third page of the Attachment has possible answers but they can vary.
The teacher says:
"Class, today we are going to learn the parts of the body in Spanish."
The teacher hands out the comical picture of the boy.
"A funny boy!"
"Repeat after meÖ "
The teacher goes over the body parts and the students repeat.
Now the teacher says:
"We are going to need pencils."
"Letís take out your pencils."
"Letís divide the class into groups of two."
Give one monster picture to student 1 and the monster picture of just the body to student 2 of the group. (There are 3 different monsters). The teacher says:
"The monster is YOUR monster."
"The monster is a secret."
"Shh! It is a secret!"
"Donít show your monster to ANYONE!"
The students are going to work in groups of two. One student is going to describe his monster to the other student. The other student is going to DRAW the monster that his partner describes. The teacher says:
"Now, are we ready?"
"Letís listen!"
"Your classmate describes HIS monster."
"You are going to draw your classmateís monster."
"Do you understand the instructions?"
"You have five minutes ‚ Letís start!"
The students will be busy, talking, drawing and probably laughing. After five minutes you need to interrupt by saying:
"Pencils on the table, class!"
"Now letís look at the monsters!"
"Letís compare your monsters!"
"Are your monsters the same?"
"Are they different?"
Now the teacher walks around the class and looks at the funny pictures that the students drew. If there is time the teacher can give another monster to student 2 for student 1 to draw. When they finish the teacher says:
"Good job, class."
