Diego Rivera
A WebQuest for Teachers
Internationalizing the Curriculum

Introduction
The purpose of this WebQuest is to increase your understanding and importance of Diego Rivera, the famed Mexican muralist and to design a mural project for your students.

Task
Design a lesson for your students in which they will see a selection of Diego Rivera's murals and then select a drawing or painting that the students can use to make their own mural.

Process
Begin by visiting the Diego Rivera Virtual Web Museum (http://www.diegorivera.com/index.php ) and familiarize yourself with the murals of the renowned artist. Choose six or seven of the murals to show to your students and have them comment on what they see. If possible, show the murals on a large screen or find a wall to show the actual dimensions of the murals you present. Next, either select a picture or have your students select a picture to make a mural for your classroom. Instructions for mural making a located at http://www.kuidaosumi.com/murals/muralguide.html . or at http://www.sscnet.ucla.edu/aasc/classweb/spring00/
