Celebrate Children!
A WebQuest for Teachers
Internationalizing the Curriculum

Introduction
Many countries in Latin America celebrate Children’s Day. You are going to plan a Children’s Day celebration for your first grade classroom.

Task
Your task is to plan a celebration in which you incorporate traditions from different Latin American countries to make it unique for your students.

Process
Begin by researching on the Internet in order to learn as much as you can about Children’s Day is celebrated in different countries. As many of the sites are in Spanish you will get a chance to practice your Spanish as you research. Keep track of the information you find on the chart below. You will find many countries listed in the resource section of this WebQuest.

Once you have gathered information, decide how you want your own students to celebrate El Día del Niño. You may want to send them an e-card (see resources) to get them excited about the celebration.
When everything is ready, let the celebration begin!
